Adoption Festival
April 28 & 29 2001

It all started at PaPa's place, with lots of planning, some animals, and lots of volunteers.
We had animals for adoption, a bake sale, plant sale, facepainting, and on Saturday a clown and a pony ride.
The plant sale turned out to be very popular, and pulled in more money than all the other activities combined.  Fortunately Diana was there Saturday with her wealth of plant information, and her herbs, to help out!
Kitty made up Shana the clown, and John oversaw the bake sale and the money handling, although he did take time out to play with the kittens.
Dawn was kind enough to bring her horse, Scout, Saturday for the pony ride, and Gaby and Chelsea were there to help as well
Shana did facepainting, including Gaby's butterfly mask....
And Chelsea's cat mask.  Shana also got on the horse to ride beside the road to try and get people to stop.
In fact, she had a lot of fun trying to get people's attention.  Meanwhile, Gaby and Renee' gave Abby and
Suzy Q some much appreciated attention and brushing.
Jamison was so laid back he spent most of his time sleeping on the shelf with Jordan.  With that line-up of cute puppies, it is a wonder anyone could resist them!!
Liz walked Liberty on laps around the building....or did Liberty walk Liz laps?  Meanwhile, Becky oversaw everything, and Dawn and her helpers gave a would be cowboy a pony ride.
Renee' took Raye for a walk, and made him look like he was in a dog show...I'm not sure who had more fun.
Dawn and Jack brought their RV on Saturday and we really appreciated the shade for the bake sale.
OK, and for the people and cats too!
Shana couldn't decide if she liked Mandy the Toy Terrier, or Jordan the black kitten better.  But Jordan came away with a red nose from Shana's makeup.
We had photos of lots of our other adoptable animals.  And didn't Shana make a beautiful clown?
Thanks Shana!!
Lots of people (and Abby too) enjoyed watching the face painting.  But things were slow from time to time.
However, we had fun, adopted out a kitten, and raised some much needed funds.
