First thing,
we set up the puppy pens and cages. Yes, Kitty was in the cage laying
paper, but she wasn't adopted! |
The puppies
thought it was great being in a pen together and having lots of people
giving them attention. Many spent an hour or more outside the run,
just being held. |

Everyone
loved the puppies! |
What's more
fun than a barrel of puppies?
Nothing! |

We had a
whole row of puppy pens |
We had a
table with information and adoption contracts, as well as pictures of all
our adoptable animals. |

We didn't
bring paperweights so we used dog biscuits. It looked kind of
cute! |
Our smallest
customer was this tiny Cocker puppy. His "brother" was making sure
we gave him a good bath! |

|
We had warm
water, and soap, and towels |
But even
then, the dogs weren't sure they were happy. |

The puppies
finally tired out. |
And crashed
out for a power nap.
(Ouch, he
had to wake up with a sore neck!) |

Everybody
pitched in and helped!
Many of us
got showers as the dogs shook like this one. (we won't have to worry
about having fleas) |
Lots of
people watched us give baths, to make sure we did it
right! |

Pet Supplies
Plus helped us advertise, so several people just dropped
in. |

And Pet
Supplies Plus even gave the puppies some tennis balls to play
with!
|
Sassy's
Brindle Boy was adopted, and will be a house
dog.
|
|
|
|
Eventually
even the volunteers tired out.
|
By that
time, the puppies were awake again and ready for some
attention.
|
|
The net
result?
We washed 19
dogs, adopted out 1 puppy, had 2 people become members, and raised
$320.78. |
|
|
We will do
it again in the spring, so if you want to have this much fun, be
ready! |

And we'll close
with a couple of pictures of the big puppy run at Happy Hills. Cheryl converted
an old horse pasture into one big run.
