Mavis
is a 45 lb. black mutt (lab/collie mix) with shorter soft fur, estimated
to be about 2 years old. She is fixed, has all her shots, and comes
with lots of dog supplies: food, bowls, leashes, training halter and
gentle leader, toys, heartworm meds., shampoo, etc.
Mavis was a stray who
came into our lives during an ice storm last February.
I gave her a good home for the past year, and she has become very
loving and protective of me. I have an opportunity to move to Chicago
and don’t feel she would be happy in such an urban setting.
She is energetic and enjoys the outdoors, and I want to find her
a home where she can be happiest.
Mavis is house trained
and has never had an accident in my home. She does not chew my belongings.
She is good with baths, whether in the tub or with a hose. She does
well in a fenced yard. She does have what they call a “prey
drive” and has chased down a bird in mid-flight and caught
it! I believe she would be best suited in a home without other pets,
as she has shown a dislike for cats on our walks around the neighborhood
and has had both good and bad encounters with other dogs along the
way.
